Icing - Unnamed minis from sets of five - and dots!

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2 of each
TOPCOAT?: Only in the last photo after cleanup, Beauty Secrets Fast Finish
SOURCE: Icing store in the mall
COMMENTS: Icing has these wonderful sets of five minis that they put out every once in a while. Unfortunately, they don't name the colors! Ah well... I wanted to wear a brand that I haven't made much time for, and these two colors somehow ended up sitting next to each other so I decided to combine them. Please note that the blue-ish one is more aquamarine, my camera has problems capturing this color so it's lost some green in the photo.  This mani makes me want to go out and buy a sari to match!

It started snowing (very lightly) where I live - and I made a little video. You can barely see the snow in the vid, but this is exciting for me as we rarely get snow here.

  2. Oooh, the blue looks nice :D
The dots remind me of an anker, like the ones of the sailing boats. xD

  3. Enjoy the snow...we get dumped on where I live. LOL

Do you use a dotting tool to make those beautiful dots? If so, what do you use?

  4. Another perfect usage of dotting tool, you are amazing =). I could never make dots like this. I like the color combination.

Congratulations on snow, I hope it won't effect traffic too much =).

  5. @Lacquer Ware: We're only supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow, and I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow, so I'm happy about the it!
I do use a dotting tool for all my dots. I got a set of 5 double-ended ones at a nail supply store in downtown LA. Here is what they look like:

I know similar sets can be purchased on ebay as well. These ones cost me $6

@colorfulbottle: It will affect traffic in our area and for the many who go down to Los Angeles for work. It's not supposed to last for long though.

  6. Another gorgeous manicure. Dots are simple to do but can be such a great effect.

  7. Watching snow fall is so relaxing to me. I'd love to be set up, inside, at the window and do my nails while it snowed. Unlikely, since I live in Florida. ;)

Darling colors! I'll look for these!

  8. You are such an artist! And you keep killing me with these amazing blues. BTW if I could apply my own varnish as good as you do, I would have no need for nail technicians...

  9. @Milly: Thank you, but I can't take credit for tidy application. I am tidier than I used to be, but I clean nail polish that gets on my cuticles or skin with a small brush dipped in acetone. Check my pinky out in the photos, final picture is after cleanup.
