L'Oreal Turbo Perle

Application: Smooth
Coats: 2
Source: Old Stash from Rexall Drugs years ago
Comments: This was one of the first creme -like polishes I ever tried. It does have a bit of shimmer. Accented my ring finger with Sally Hansen Planetary

Wet N Wild Rustic and Wet N Wild Shield

Application: Smooth, but the short, fat bottle cap makes holding brush a little awkward.
Coats: 1 - which is nice!
Source: Target/Walgreens
Comments: Rustic is the base color with Shield on the tips. Pretty colors, but just 'meh' for me. Maybe I'll try Shield on its own sometime.

Nail Art Diva Nail Kit

The last thing I picked up at Ross was this:
Great concept, but it doesn't work. It comes with 6 little bottles of polish and 5 image plates. Here is the best I was able to get after several attempts to use the machine:
Yah, no good. However, I tried just using my Konad stamper (still with the polish that came with the kit), and this is what I was able to acheive:
and this

More promising. I haven't been able to duplicate those results yet, but I'm hoping I can at least salvage the plates and the polish to make this purchase worthwhile. I actually bought an extra one for a co-worker's daughters, but since it doesn't work, I'll have to see if I can find that receipt and return it.

Sally Hansen Denim Frost

Application: Smooth
Coats: This could easily be a one-coater, but I put a 2nd on
Source: Dollar Tree
Comments: I put this on and immediately said "ooooooooh" out loud. It's so rich and blue and smooth and rich and blue and ... wait, I'm repeating myself. The color is closest to the first picture below. The fact that it was opaque in one coat also makes it a great choice for a quick mani. I wore this for three days. Not sure why it's called denim frost. There's no frost here, just smooth creme, baby.

Sation Bumpin Beige

Application: Smooth
Coats: 2
Source: Victoria Nail Supply
Comments: I guess this is my "mannequin hand" color. It really does look like you're seeing my nail beds instead of my nails. Speaking of nails - had to chop them a few tips were peeling and I have a split in the middle of my right thumbnail. Yuck. Doesn't stop me from enjoying my polish though! I may have to get a backup of this color...

In this last pic I'm comparing the color on my nail to Color Club Best Dressed List. They look pretty similar. Will have to wear it to really find out though.

I need to stop!

Haulin' that is. A co-worker told me about a beauty supply spot downtown (Skyline Beauty Supply) and I went there yesterday hoping to score some dollar polish. How nice was it to see these - from the Orly Sweet collection - which I've wanted for a while... $3.50 a piece! That's 35 cents more than I pay for them from Victoria Nail Supply, but I'm not paying for shipping, so WIN!
Green Apple (not from Sweet Collection), Gumdrop, Snowcone, Lemonade, Lollipop

I also have wanted a set of dotting tools for a while and found these there. I'm going to be dotting like crazy soon (more likely making a hot dotted mess on my nails, but oh well)!

Then of course came the dollar polishes. I've never seen this brand (NDB) before, so I'll definitely have to wear some of these soon.
Diamond Head, Forbidden Fruit, Cosmic Swirl, Kilowala Lava, Corianne, Golden Bikini, Lemon Blossoms

Tahitian Pearl, Under the Sea, Midnight Swim, Black Sand Beach, Dream Forest, Tree Foil, Fuji Green

From there I proceeded to do some more haulin' at the drugstore and at Ross. More about those later. I seriously do not need to buy any more polish for years. Seriously.

Pure Ice Taupe Drawer

Application: Super smooth. I like this about this brand.
Coats: 2
Comments: Okay, I'm confused. I picked up two bottles and they're both called Taupe Drawer. However, they are definitely not the same color. I used one version (more pink leaning) for all my nails, then put the other version (more purple leaning) on the tip of my ring finger. Both gorgeous to me.

Wet N Wild French White Creme with Sally Hansen Going Green

Application: WNW - streaky, SH - smooth
Coats: 2 of the white, 1 of the green on the tips
Comments: I'm sorry St. Pat. The white was a little scary - streaky and lumpy. However, once the shiny topcoat went on, it looked like porcelain! Will definitely use it again.
This mani was ugly to me though - I was using the full size konad patterns for the first time, and they didn't transfer fully and weren't quite long enough. I had to do the tips in green to cover the empty spaces. Yuck.
Marbled my thumbs just for variety.

Sally Hansen Metro Creme

Application: Smooth, but polish was a little runny
Coats: 2, probably could use 3
Comments: Great dirty/army-ish green/brown color. Dollar Tree find which unfortunately doesn't dry fast enough. Love the color though, so it's a keeper.

Sinful Colors Innocent

Application: Thick, first coat streaky
Coats: 2
Comments: Another fun color. Really fell in love with it after I stamped on a design in black (last picture).

Fingerpaints Shades of Dark

Application: Smooth
Coats: 2
Comments: In the bottle and on the first coat, this color looks like a deep violet. However, the second coat makes it look more like a very dark burgundy.
Added Image from Konad plate m53 and threw a dot of color in the middle of the larger flower.
