COMMENTS: After the previous manicure I still wanted more jelly-finish polish and glitter, so I decided to finally try one of the OPI "sorbets" that I managed to get with a coupon at JCP. This one is lovely and applies beautifully. I grabbed some glitter to match. Sadly, these gorgeous iridescent glitters lose their color if mixed in a bottle with nail polish. I placed them individually between the second and third coat of color.
Oh, and yes, I cut my nails again! They were getting too long :)
I love your shorter nails and this color looks great on you! I've been rocking the Sorbets all summer - I liked them much more than I thought I would. They also look really great with flakies!
ReplyDeleteI love the lenght. And great colours. Must get some Jelly's
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with this. Must be red(ish) jelly mood lately as I put up a franken of mine. Your short nails make my long nails look icky. LOL I do love your nail beds and nails. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on these! I have a blue glitter like that I got at Sally Beauty and wanted to franken, but haven't tested them.
ReplyDeleteDid you place the glitter with a tweezers? I am amazed at this manicure, it's so amazing, the glitter and the jelly. It is so understated, which is awesome.
the nail color looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI do love the jellies!! And these looks excelent on you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great combo, you really make me want to try a jelly/glitter sandwich as well!
ReplyDeleteJellies and flakies are a match made in polish heaven, as always you rock it!!!
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments!
ReplyDelete@Paillette: I placed the glitter with one of my dotting tools. If I dampen the tip I can then pick up glitter with it, and it's much easier than using tweezers because these pieces are tiny!
Lovely! I wish I could wear jellies, but my nails seem to get so dirty underneath between hand washings when I wear them that it's just gross...Ok, so they probably get dirty regardless, but with jellies I can see it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I have a jelly sammich of right now! Are those the glitters from sally's? I just bought some for frankening, and I was hoping they didn't melt. I have the white/iridescent ones.
ReplyDelete@Pam: The glitter is from a nail supply place in downtown LA, so I'm not sure if they're the same...
ReplyDeleteI took my bottle of GMG and put a big scoop of SpectraFlair in it. It makes a GORGEOUS holo if you are inclined to decant and experiment...
ReplyDeleteI love jellies and glitters so this on is a winner ;)
ReplyDeleteO.M.G this is freaking awesome! By far one of the prettiest mani's I've seen as of late!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I have GMG I've got to try it with large glitters!
ReplyDeleteI have that kind of glitter too. I mixed it into my Harry Potter franken and it turned into plain silver pieces. And it made my franken dusty-ish too. :D
