APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2 before glitter, 1 after glitter
TOPCOAT?: Yes
SOURCE: Forever 21 store last year, Glitter from Ulta (Ulta - Pinata Yada Yada)
COMMENTS: This is one of the colors my hubby bought me when we went to get a gift card for a niece last year. I've tried wearing it on it's own, but didn't like the way it looked. Now I've found a fabulous way to wear it though! My jelly sandwich = 2 "slices" of color, 1 "slice" of glitter, and a final "slice" of color. Love it! Um yeah, and I took a lot of photos....
Not such a flattering color on its own (2 coats):
Add glitter (One coat of Ulta - Pinata Yada Yada):
And one more coat of color:
Look at all the fun possibilities!!! These are all with 1 coat color, 1 coat glitter, 1 coat color.
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so squishy! I love it. And thanks for the wheel shot - now I want to do a jelly sandwich!
ReplyDeleteOk, this is the first jelly sandwich manicure that I liked. It might be because of the green base. I'm going to have to try and do this one.
ReplyDeleteI really like these sandwiches. Does the glitter smooth out pretty well? Looks even better on the nail!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute glitter sandwich.
ReplyDeleteNot even sure which I like best off your wheel, but leaning towards the left side, the blues and greens
This kinda reminds me of party puke. LOL Or glitter that got stuck in that horrible green slime stuff that used to come in big containers. Either way, it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteOMG you kill me with those sandwiches!!! That glitter looks awesome!!!!! Why isn't there an Ulta in PR? :-O
ReplyDeleteSo so so so MUCH FUN! I just picked up a multi glitter from Claire's and I am totally painting a glitter sandwich today! <3 it!
ReplyDeleteYummy!! I have Party of Five Glitters and some great greens, totally going to have to recreate this.
ReplyDeleteYummy Yummy yum! I loves this sammich. Lol! Now must hoard up all the Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday dupes and gather all my jellies. Can you tell us which jellies are on your nail wheel?
ReplyDeleteOh, this is PERFECT! I don't like it by itself either but together, these are awesome.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm TOTALLY doing this one day. This is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWith topcoat it looks beautiful! I like the turquoise or blue the most!:) but all of posibilities are great:)
ReplyDeletei love this i want this loll, it looks gorgeous with green and omg i want this but i lack the main two ingredients *sob* where did you get the jellies from, i doubt it but do you know if they're available to international nail polish lovers and oh i need that ulta loll, i truly <3 every single combination on that nail wheel : )
ReplyDeleteLove it! I don't think I've seen a green version yet. Your color wheel is so fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great comments!
ReplyDelete@loodie loodie loodie: The glitter lays flat and after the final layer of color and a coat of topcoat it's all completely smooth.
@Jossie: You don't need to get the Ulta version, Wet N Wild and Milani both have very similar versions of this glitter mix (and JQ mentioned one from Claire's as well). Of course you can use any glitter you want really, as long as you can see the base color through it.
@rmcandlelight (nailsbeautiqued): I'll try to make another post on this.
@nail loopy: See comment above for jellies. Jellies are also super easy to make using clear polish and a creme. You can also use any multi-size glitter.
Wow this is beautiful (: I love all the glitters .
ReplyDeleteWorks well in a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteyum, glitter samich! I have to try this, thanks, ABOP!
ReplyDeleteAll those combinations looks totally great!
ReplyDeleteI haven't liked any of the other "jelly sandwiches" I've seen, but I LOVE this. It really looks great on you, too. Your nails are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou do jelly sammiches sooooo perfectly! WOWOW! Each post I read is better than the next.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love the blue jelly sandwich, I should give this a go.
