Spotted and Matted - Ulta Limelight

COMMENTS: I modified this mani to the one I originally had planned before being wowed by the color last night. Dots were added with a new Kiss nail art pen ($5.50 for a set of two - black/white or silver/pink). I then put a matte topcoat over it. I picked up this topcoat which is meant for the older Orly Satin Hues polishes at a nail supply that has a small selection of old Orlys. I'm so surprised at how well this topcoat works, and prefer it to my China Glaze matte Magic! Or maybe that just means I prefer the "satin" look to the fully "matte" look...

    Thanks for the comments! I love the tiny dots too - they're a totally different look and nice and easy with the pens.
    @Miss Blue: You can get this online as well :)

    @Jaljen: I always start with a line down the center, then I move to the next column and space them so they're all shifted halfway down, and repeat...

    I really like this, especially with the satin finish! I may have to get one of those pens, too - I thought I wouldn't need them since I have a dotting tool, but my dotting tool wouldn't make dots that tiny.

    That matte finish reminds me of some kind of bug...but in a good way! And, I think I like the matte better than the shiny for once.

    i have to get a hold of those nail art pens. i've never seen them in my area before.

    i agree, i like the 4th pic better than the 1st one. is that the satin version? very pretty.
