APPLICATION: Smooth, this polish is nice and thick, just the way I like it.
COATS: 1 thick coat
TOPCOAT?: Yes
SOURCE: Local beauty supply for 99c each.
COMMENTS: I love it! All the polishes are from the same brand.Teal Envy for the base. Swirled over it - the glitter is Baby Blue, the green is Tropical Green, and the blue is called Caribbean. I wore it shiny one day, and put a matte topcoat on it the next.
I love love love this mani! This has to be my favorite out of all of your manis. I wish my nails were long enough to do this. It's a gorgeous mani!

ReplyDeleteSooooo pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to try this one.
This is absolutely amazing! I want it too. :))
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a truly amazing manicure!!! Maybe a short tutorial? I was wondering how you did it? I'm assumingn that you put on the base color, then added drops of each of the other three colors in a row, and then dragged a dotting tool through the drops. Did you let the base coat dry first? Did you have any problems with the drops of nail polish setting up before you did the drag line? Thank you for your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh, this is so pretty! i like all the colors you choose to make it very tropical. i agree we need a tutorial stat!
ReplyDeleteThat is freakin awesome, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! It looks so fresh and summery. Absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous. I love it, wow wee, you outdone yourself here. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments, everyone! I love this mani too and am on my third day with it on.
ReplyDelete@finished10dnails: The way you described the process is exactly right. Base coat then added drops and dragged through with a toothpick. I don't wait for the base color to dry, and try to use polish that is:
1. Thick enough to cover and be fully opaque in one coat without pooling
2. Not too quick-drying.
I'll definitely try to do a step-by-step photo tutorial, but Colette at mysimplelittlepleasures.blogspot.com has a great video tutorial in this post.
I looove this manicure. The colours, the marbling. My nails want to look like this when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteThis is, so far, my absolute favorite mani of yours!!!! It looks like soooo much fun to do. :)
ReplyDeleteWow... So nice!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty supply stores near me are slack because they never have awesome polish colors like this. Grr. The blue being used a the base color is gorgeous. And I LOVE it with the matte topcoat. I wish a brand made a matte color like that.

Oh I love this. I don't think my nails are long enough for the full version, but I might try something with these colours and a smaller version. ♥
