COMMENTS | COMENTARIOS:

Like many of the polishes in my collection, I've had this one for a few years.  It's a pretty blue, but I had to add something to it. Unfortunately the Nyx polish has a yellow toned base, so it made my manicure appear more green. I still like the combination though.

One more remix

COMMENTS: I'm sick of the pink but too lazy to take it off and put on a fresh mani, so... I played! Using tape to section off the nail, I painted the top part black with LA Colors - Black Velvet. Then came more  white dots, and finally the black dots. It's a bit much, but I'll only be wearing it for a day, so I'm not even bothering with cleanup or another layer of topcoat. Black Velvet is sooo shiny on its own!

EDIT - I ended up putting on another coat of topcoat 2 hours later. It looks better, and because I waited so long, I have minimal smudging. The topcoat really helps merge the layers into one smooth shiny surface.

She's Sooo Glam... in that Bold Blouse

COMMENTS: It's amazing how much attention a (pepto bismol) pink manicure attracts! Either way, I finally had time to do something quick with yesterday's Color Club - She's Soo Glam. I turned it into a funky french with Tres Risk - Bold Blouse and added dots in white. Photos taken before a final layer of topcoat.

Tres Risk - Suede Pumps, Tres Risk - A Lotta Cash

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2 of Suede Pumps (the grey), 1 of A Lotta Cash (the green)
COLOR DUPE ALERT: Suede Pumps is (to my eye and on my right hand) almost a dead on dupe for Nina Ultra Pro - Never Glum Plum, that's why I have it hanging out in the bottle pic.
TOPCOAT?: Not in the first photos - only in the last one.
SOURCE: Ross Dress for Less - from a set of 4.
COMMENTS: When I swatched these two on tips they were rich and creamy, so I couldn't wait to wear them. However, I didn't want to use them on their own for an all grey or all green mani. Solution? Combine them! This combo was the winner of my audition. I used acrylic paint for the white stripe. The polishes were quite shiny on their own, but I had to add a top coat later (last photo) to seal in the acrylic paint. I need to do more like this!

Tres Risk - Secret Passion

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: Yes
SOURCE: Ross, as part of a pack of four colors (polish names are on the pack, not on the bottles).
COMMENTS: I bought the set for this particular color and it didn't disappoint. I also added rhinestones and tiny beads from a microbead set to the mani. (By the way, if you get the Martha Stewart microbead set  for nail art, get the glass ones, not the metal ones - the colors on the metal ones run off once they come in contact with nail polish). I used the lavender colored ones (named Amethyst).
