Ruby Kisses - Madmoiselle
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 3
TOPCOAT?: No
SOURCE: Local beauty supply for 99cents - and by the way, that's how it's spelled - Madmoiselle
COMMENTS: After the yellow fiasco, I needed something less... vibrant, as I wasn't feeling up to doing any more nail art. This polish is amazing! It had just the right amount of pale pink pigment to make my nails look "done" but still natural. You can see my nails are partly stained (I'll need to start using my gel base coat more often), but that wasn't too noticeable in real life. Hex glitter/flat rhinestones from Dollar Nail Art finished the look. This is my new go-to polish!

Monthly Mani-Fest March 2011
Lanae from LanaesNails had this fabulous idea about posting a month's worth of manicures so new followers wouldn't always have to scroll through pages and pages of blogs to see what goodies they missed. I love the idea, but while she has a video review, I'll just be posting photos.
Thanks for the great inspiration Lanae!
Without further ado, Here are my March 2011 manis:
I'll have to work on posts for past months as well and tag them for easy reference.

Sinful Colors - Unicorn, Hazard, and Pull Over
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2 of Unicorn
TOPCOAT?: Yes
SOURCE: Walgreens on sale for $1.50 each minus $1 manufacturer coupon - 50 cents each!
COMMENTS: These three colors looked so good together I was sure I could pull off a successful dotted mani. Not so - The color of Hazard overpowered the more subtle yellows and threw off the balance in the mani. I tried to salvage it with Golden Rose Scale Effect #05, but that was another bad choice.
Hot flaky mess = MANI FAIL! I had to take it off once I took the photos.

OPI DS Original, OPI Blue Moon Lagoon mani extension
COMMENTS: Layering a coat of DS Original over my last mani turned out to be a great idea! The accent finger using Blue Moon Lagoon wasn't such a success though. I like holo like this - linear but not too smooth.
Added a flower(middle) and some flakies(ring)
Before removal, put two frankens over my pinky and index nails.

Elizabeth Arden - West End Purple Sage
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?:
SOURCE: Nail Supply store in downtown LA (Chinatown) for about $3
COMMENTS: I picked out a few of these old Elizabeth Arden polishes because they looked intriguing and I really like the bottles. This one is beautiful and has some amazing silver flecks in it. I still felt it was missing something so sponged OPI - Let Me Entertain You on the tips.
