COMMENTS | COMENTARIOS: I wanted to use one of my old polishes and this one caught my eye. It's a beautiful color but took much longer to dry - even with my quick dry top coat.
** Yo quería usar una de mis esmaltes antiguos y éste captó mi atención. Es un color hermoso, pero tomó mucho más tiempo para secar - aun con mi capa final seca rápido. **

On this day last year - Oct 21 2010
Hi everyone! I've decided to do a post like this once in a while - a look at what my nails were wearing one year ago as I always find it fun to look at my old photos.
On this day last year my manicure was:
**En este día el año pasado mi manicura fue:**
Wow, my nails were so long at that time!
**Hola a todos! He decidido hacer un post como este de vez en cuando - una mirada a lo que mis uñas se llevaba hace un año, ya que siempre resulta divertido ver mis fotos viejas.**

Nyx Girls - Alaskan Wild
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2, although 3 would have been better
TOPCOAT?: Only in sunlight photo.
SOURCE: Nail supply store in downtown Los Angeles
COMMENTS: I purchased a number of green, blue, and blue-green Nyx Girls polish the last time I was at the store downtown as I had never seen them before. This is a gorgeous green that was hard to capture on camera in the artificial light (my camera kept making it look like it had more yellow in it). I created an accent nail with Nyx Girls - Emerald Forest, which is absolutely stunning. I'll have to wear that one in a full manicure sometime.
Two coats, no topcoat:
Sunlight the next day - with topcoat and most color accurate:
Unfortunately this green stained my nails (especially my middle finger), so double up on topcoat if you have this one.

Nyx Girls - Woman
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: Only after adding Nyx Girls - Fame
SOURCE: Nail supply in downtown Los Angeles
COMMENTS: This is one gorgeous glass fleck/glitter/shimmer red - so gorgeous it glows! I topped the tips with Fame - a glitter that turned out to be disappointingly sparse. Woman is definitely a winner though!

Golden Rose Paris - 108
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: See photos
SOURCE: www.goldenroseusa.com
COMMENTS: Ah yes, I had been waiting patiently to wear this gorgeous one. You know purple and green are my favorite colors, right? This shade made my eyes so happy! I actually sighed after applying each coat, it was so pretty. I later partially topped it with one coat of a topcoat I made with spectraflair pigment.
2 coats, no topcoat:
Here's what it looks like at 1 coat:
2 coats, no topcoat - such a rich purple!
With the spectraflair topcoat and a final layer of my usual topcoat:

Maybelline - Matte Blue
APPLICATION: Somewhat lumpy because the polish dries so quickly
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: Not until after stamping
SOURCE: Matte Blue: Part of my blog giveaway winnings from Paillette: a little nail polish journal
Stamping polish (Avon Mirror Shine - Glisten): www.avon.com
COMMENTS: I was excited to try the Maybelline mattes that I won (in spite of the fact that I own a different mattes myself (green), but haven't worn it yet, lol!). After swatching them on a nail wheel, I decided to start with this one, which although it shows brush strokes, has a gorgeous brushed metal look.
You can see my application flaws in this photo:
Much better here:
In the shade:
Super fabulous at a distance!
Stamped with Avon Mirror Shine - Glisten, and with one coat of topcoat:
The design sometimes looked like circuits, lol! I liked this mani!

Golden Rose with Protein - 261 stamped and flakiefied
APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: After flakies applied, yes
SOURCE: Golden Rose with Protein - 261: www.goldenroseusa.com,
Ulta - Devious: Ulta Store
Ludurana - Chuva: from Brazil, with the help of Mah
COMMENTS: Jossie challenged me last week to combine stamping and flakies for my next mani. Here's what I came up with. I think it's nice that when the flakies aren't that visible, you can see the stamping, so there's always something for the eyes to enjoy.
Golden Rose with Protein - 261 - gorgeous at two coats, no topcoat:
With Ulta - Devious on the tips:
After stamping. I thought I'd share the mess :)
