This is a brand that is no longer in stores, so I've had this polish at least since 2009. That being said, it's still a fantastic color and dried quickly. It seems to change color based on lighting conditions.

** Esta es una marca que ya no está en las tiendas, así que he tenido este esmalte por lo menos desde 2009. Dicho esto, todavía es un color fantástico y se seca rápidamente. Se parece cambiar de color basado en las condiciones de iluminación.

COMMENTS | COMENTARIOS:

I decided to use my gel pens on my mani again. It looks kind of strange, but I liked it enough to wear it for one day, haha!
**  Decidí utilizar mis plumas de gel en mi mani otra vez. Parece un poco extraño, pero me gustó lo suficiente para llevarlo para un día, ¡jaja!

I felt like wearing a nail foil, but didn't want to worry about it looking perfect since topcoat makes it wrinkle. So, I decided to apply the foil glue with a sponge. That way there would be pieces of shiny color and the wrinkles would not matter. What do you think?

Tropez - Black Pearl

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 3
TOPCOAT?: No
SOURCE: Rite Aid - about a year ago on clearance.

COMMENTS: I decided to do a quick swatch of this color for a fellow MakeupAlley Nail board participant on Saturday. She had seen this color on Ebay and wanted to know if it might be a dupe for Chanel's color with the same name. I can't answer that question as I don't have the pricier polish, but this is actually pretty nice - I seriously considered using it as a full  manicure! Hmm.. I'm starting to look at frosty polish in a different light.

Challenge Fail - Hand in Hand

COMMENTS: This was supposed to be my entry for Polish Hoarder Disorder's challenge of the week. I chose to use little hand stencils and brown as my accent color. If it had stayed crisp, it would have been super cute - like little pictures of my hands with a mani. From afar, it looks fine, but close up, you can see that the topcoat made the color bleed. I tried five different topcoats on my right hand, and they all messed up the brown!
What have I learned? I think next time I need to topcoat the accent color while I still have the stencil on.
Base - two coats of Sally Hansen -White Tip
Hands - Kleancolor - Cappuchino
Mini-Mani - White Tip again with accent nail of Tropez - Black Satin.

Cute idea, right?  Well my hubby thinks so!

Tropez Black Satin and Sally Hansen Baroque Frost

Application: Smooth on both
Coats: 1 of each (awesome!)
Source: Tropez was from Rite Aid, SH was from Dollar Tree (though I found a dupe in my stash too)
Comments: Five words - ONE COAT QUICK DRY BLACK. I've never tried Tropez before, because the colors never appealed to me. I may have to reconsider though. This black was opaque in one coat, which was perfect! I wonder if these would work for konad stamping?

Of course I had to add something to it, so I layered a sheer and otherwise useless (on its own) Sally Hansen over it. Turned out fab! I'm finding that sheer polishes like this one are also great for adding shimmer to frankens without affecting the color. More on that another time.
