Sinful Colors - Unicorn, Hazard, and Pull Over

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2 of Unicorn
TOPCOAT?: Yes
SOURCE: Walgreens on sale for $1.50 each minus $1 manufacturer coupon - 50 cents each!
COMMENTS: These three colors looked so good together I was sure I could pull off a successful dotted mani. Not so - The color of Hazard overpowered the more subtle yellows and threw off the balance in the mani. I tried to salvage it with Golden Rose Scale Effect #05, but that was another bad choice.

Hot flaky mess = MANI FAIL!  I had to take it off once I took the photos.

  5. Bah I wouldn't call it a fail, it's cute! But it's true that the coral erase the pretty yellow alliance. You make me want to do a dotted nail mani! I haven't in ages. :)

Unicorn is such an interesting shade of yellow (me want). It looks cold and dirty which appeal me. But I'm a bit biased because I love Sinful a lot.

The color of "Pull Over" in the bottle goes so very well with your skintone, I'd be curious to see a full swatch on you!

  6. Looks like your just like me, once I get a dotting tool in my hand, I cannot stop :D

Okay, seriously, I don't think this was a fail at all, the dots look super cute and I think I had to track down Unicorn for me too (:

  8. *whispers* I kinda like the flaky on it.

No, I wouldn't say complete fail. I think what saves it is that the colors look great on you. But that Hazard (that's the coral-ly/orangey one in the middle, right) does take some of the attention away from the yellows. But again, those three colors look good on you so...maybe it's a draw.

  10. It's an interesting look and I don't think it's a fail at all. I know you didn't get exactly what you wanted out of it, but I like the play on colors. :)

  15. It looks gorgeous in the pictures. What impresses me is that there is no difference between the hands; when I try to do nail art the one I do with my non-dominant hand never looks as good as the other one. Of course, that used to be true of my polishing and it isn't anymore so I guess I need more practice!

  16. You can work with those dotting tools like no-one else!
I'd like it more without the flakies, but wouldn't call it a fail though :)

  18. Where did you find the coupon? I checked this week's circular and didn't see it. Great dot mani, by the way. I agree with Jackie S.

  19. Wow, thanks for all the comments! I still don't like the mani :( but I have one on now that I do like :)

@Ivana - I hope you enjoy your dotting tools as much as I do, I'm addicted!

@nathalie: Unicorn is really pretty. I like your suggestion of wearing Pull Over on its own...

@Shieldmaiden96 - these photos are all of the same hand - my left. But when it comes to dots, I'm pretty good at matching right and left.

@coco_fiere - The sales assistant at Walgreens had it at the register. Apparently it was good for that weekend, and she let anyone looking at the nail polish know about it (she said her daughter loves nail polish too!). I don't know if there was another way to get the coupon.

  20. My first thought on seeing tnis mani was I LOVE THIS!!! Then I saw the flakies and I think I have to agree with you on that one...but the dots-awesome and fun and yes, I think you can pull it off because it does go so well with your skin tone. I really liked how the other colors sneaked out at me and said "hey!" Great job!

  21. Maybe its just the camera making the colors look more vibrant, since you hate it, but I LOVE this!
