OPI skittles - sometimes I don't get the hype...

APPLICATION: Okay, DS Reflection applied the smoothest.
COATS: 2 of each
TOPCOAT?: Not until after nail art.
SOURCE: Various
COMMENTS: I know lots of people rave about OPI, but honestly, I've never been as enthusiastic about the brand. I owned just one bottle from this brand - Vould U Like a Lick-tenstein - until last year, when I decided to add some more to my collection. There are definitely some standout colors, but I'm not really wowed by any of the ones in this post. Ah well...
I did finally get a JCP coupon though, and used it to get a few from the Texas collection, those I think might look better on me.

From left to right below:
OPI - Ali's Big Break, DS reflecttion, The Show Must go On!,  Let Me Entertain You
Bottle: OPI - Vould U Like a Lick-tenstein? (on my thumb)

  1. I tend to agree with you about OPI. There a number of other brands that are cheaper and have a range of colors. They do have some standouts but OPI tends to make them limited edition for some reason. They are much like Essie in my opinion. I do love those lines - how did you do that?? You also wear red really well.

  3. Wow, I love that lattice!!

I was not happy with Jade is the New Black, it wore pretty badly on my.

I think that there is a strong marketing and brand identification that puts OPI up front.

    You rock it, though!!! LOL!

  4. I love that nail art!
And I don't get the hype about lots of brands...I have quite a few OPIs in my collection, but I agree that most of them are on the lame side.
I don't get the hype about Deborah Lippmann either...people are always fawning over those colors, and most of the time, they're blech or boring. :/

  7. Thats quite the little stash of red OPI. I, also, don't get into them that much. I find they chip on me within a day, so what's the point? I think I only hang on to the bottles I have because I have this weird lacquer hoarding issue and just can't let them go. :P

  8. Your lines are so straight! Did you use a striper or tape them off?
