Icing - Unnamed light blue mini - comparison

APPLICATION: Smooth
COATS: 2
TOPCOAT?: Only in the last two photos
SOURCE: Icing store in the mall
COMMENTS: I decided to see what colors in my stash are similar to this one, and by comparing my swatched tips, came up with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Blue Blast and OPI - No Room for the Blues. These two turned out to be really close to the Icing color on the nail - with the OPI being the closer of the two. I've used arrows in the photos to indicate what is on which finger(s).
Then, I just had to add dots, didn't I? I used the blue and the white from the same set for them.

With topcoat below:

UP NEXT: A mani with the white polish in the same set:

  3. @Enamel Girl: It's called Blue Blast. I grabbed it on clearance at Target quite a while ago. Yah, I've got another blue too - something with the word Flash or Streak in it, but that's not as bright.

It´s beautiful. I love the dots. You make lovely ones... Do you know the Brazilian nail polishes?

  9. Thanks for the comments!

@rmcandlelight: I know you've got dotting skills too - hope to see more of them!

@Taki J: I miss your posts. Hope you're still painting your nails though :) (and I so need to get back to sewing)

@Jennifer Leigh: I like the Icing color the best as well. The difference is barely noticeable, but there's a hint of yellow in there that's not in the others.

@Patricia Carmo - Brazil: Alas, I have not one single Brazilian nail polish, and you seem to have so many fun ones to choose from. I'd love to get my hands on the new set of flakies (Sancion?) that came out last year.

  13. Very pretty! LOVE the dots. Did you use a stamper or something or is it freehand?

  14. @kellie: I did the dots freehand using a dotting tool. I used a smaller size tip for the white dots than for the darker blue ones.
